Why Age is really just a number – Health Secrets Revealed!

I don’t understand why health professionals use physical age to measure someone’s health; how many beats your heart should beat, what symptoms are “natural”, based on your age (back aches, bone aches, death? etc); this method of calculating ageing may sound logical, but how accurate is it? is this method preventing you to seeing other possibilities?

Think of physical age – its just a theory that says “after 365 days, I will be 1 year older” – older being defined as someone with a weaker immune system, weaker health and less physically attractive.
Let’s say if the above is accurate, why do we have people that are 40 years old, but look like they are in their 20s? Why do we have older athletes that outperform younger ones?

The picture below is of Araceli Gonzalez – a model and actress from Argentina – she is over 40 years old and has a 20 year old daughter. Would you say she has a weak immune system? (I’m not saying younger looking people have a powerful immune system, but I’m saying its very unlikely)


So, what is a better way to calculate age?

Its called biological age; this measures the damage to your body already done by attempting to look at your eating habits, exercise routines as well as mental health – remind you of anything? ( mind, body and spirit)

Don’t go off searching for “biological age calculators” as they are not accurate – the only biological age calculator that you can use is YOU . Not a doctor, not a psychic, but you! (it is your body, right?) How do you do that? Short answer: meditation.

Long answer: Thankfully for you sceptics (who I love!), there is a ton of research done on people who meditate regularly – they look 10-20+ years younger than people who do not – and generally live longer too!

What do I mean by meditation?

Meditation is not just sitting on a rock in lotus position and thinking nothing (although that sounds soooooo good).

People seem to miss the point whenever the topic of meditation arises – meditation changes your brain physically as well as your brain wave activity, permanently; this has a direct effect on the body (remember, mind-body connection?) The effects include:

– Steady awareness of your body (how it reacts to food, environment and emotions)

– Increased awareness allows you to locate problem areas which are sometimes hidden e.g. an emotionally draining partner can be located and disposed! Foods that drain your body, rather than empower it, will literally FEEL that they are sucking out your energy!

With this increased level of consciousness, you are able to SEE yourself, and heal yourself and live a quality life that every human being deserves.



How to be a hottie

Just like how modern society handles it’s health problems, by covering up the symptoms; the fashion and make-up industry head towards covering up the apparent “flaws” the human body seems to have – in both cases, fighting a losing battle.

It remains a mystery why this approach is still in existence; if a baby cries for food, would you tape over its mouth, just so it stops crying? this is exactly what you are doing when you put make-up over your face because of bad skin, or take an aspirin to cover up a headache.

If the above paragraph sounds like you, then you need to consider changing your approach; this means tackling the issue from its source and not covering up the symptoms (be it powder for bad skin, or pharmaceutical drugs for depression).

Scientists already know, attractiveness in a human is measured by the individual’s level of health; using this, we can safely say, that raising one’s health to optimal levels, is the best way to become “a hottie” (hehe).

Look at yourself as a trinity of mind, body and spirit – you cannot simply focus on your body (eating right + exercise) and have a cloudy mind with unstable thoughts (mind, body & spirit) and emotions; or have no alone time for reflection on your goals (mind, body & spirit) and intentions.

For Example: Let’s say that you eat right and exercise 2-3 times a week, which in turn affects your mental clarity to some extent because of the mind-body-spirit connection; despite that, you lose your temper several times a week – this will damage your physical body (very angry = increased heart rate = high blood pressure = organ damage) which counteracts your goal of health (and being a hottie); after all, if the body (eating right, and exercise) can inflict changes to the mind (such as mental clarity), the mind can also inflict changes in the body.

An example of an aligned plan for reaching optimal health could be – exercising and eating correctly (body) whilst meditating (spirit) to stabilize your thoughts and emotions; and learning (mind) from your experiences as well as others, about health then deciding to focus on a specific routine.

As you can see, reaching optimal health is just as much a science, as it is an art. This is why it is important to combine latest scientific research with ancient health practices to guide you towards a vibrant mind, body and spirit.



2 Secrets to Longevity and Youth

The search for everlasting youth has been around since the beginning of time (not really, I doubt dinosaurs worried about youth… so since the beginning of mankind, maybe?). The idea of immortality is glorified on TV and Films – stories like the film, Twilight (2008) is one of the popular ones.

Anyway, If immortality does exist – I doubt it will require you becoming a Vampire or a Werewolf, if anything, it will require you to become more… human. The definition of immortality here being, very very healthy.

Here are some “secrets” that sit quietly in the realm of knowledge, undiscovered by most, due to their simplicity:

1 – Breath…

The ancients knew something we didn’t – the importance of breath work. Did you know that the way you breath, directly impacts your heart rate?

Can you think of anything else that directly impacts the heart rate? (Think about it before continuing to read)

The answer is stress – which is so famous, that its mostly ignored!

Bottom line is – breath deep and slow; the slower, deeper your breath, the slower your heart rate. When I say deep, it means your stomach MUST expand, NOT your chest – so stop tensing your stomach muscles (singers, you will know this already) and breath into your stomach – hold the in-breath for a few seconds before exhaling (slowly!).

With practice, this can be your normal breathing – so do it throughout the day.

2 – Sit down, in lotus position, when you eat

Scientists today know that a method to calculate life expectancy can be determined by looking at a person’s stomach (metabolism and digestion) – even in ancient texts the stomach area is an energy hub where you store your life force.

“Indigested foods can cause major problems in the blood stream, intestine and the colon; so to improve digestion, sit down in lotus position whenever you eat; this reduces blood in the legs and forces most of it to go to the stomach region, improving digestion as well as revitalizing the organs”

On a side-note: Many Asian Cultures sit on the floor, in lotus position, when eating; no wonder Japan is known for their large percentage of population reaching over a 100 years of age (besides the diet they eat).
